National Express travel to and from Hull each day, linking in excess of 1,000 destinations throughout England and beyond.

Trains at the centrally located Paragon railway station regularly travel between London Kings Cross and Kingston Upon Hull, which offers a journey time of just under three hours, with no changes on this direct route. Ferry transport is also available in the city, and both the Pride of Hull and the Pride of Rotterdam provide the chance to cruise in true luxury, although the cheaper P&O ferries are often the preferred option.

Located in the village of Kirmington and approximately 24 km / 15 miles from both Hull and Scunthorpe, the Humberside Airport can be reached along the A18.

This small international facility is served by around six individual airlines, including Flybe, KLM Cityhopper and Thomas Cook Airlines, with the main destinations being Amsterdam, Antalya, Crete, Jersey, Larnaca and Mallorca. Annual passenger numbers at the Humberside Airport are fast approaching 275,000 travellers.

Car Rental

If you have arrived in Hull using public transport and feel that you would benefit from renting a car, then there is a good Hertz office situated at the city's railway station. Those driving to Hull will soon realise that the city has excellent motorway connections, being sited just off the M62. Lincolnshire and York are easy to travel to by car, via the A15 road and the Humber Bridge. In the city itself, a popular Park and Ride scheme is now in place, where drivers can park their vehicles on the outskirts of Hull (off the A63) and then catch one of the regular buses, which stop off at the KC Stadium, the Royal Infirmary and the city centre itself.

Buses and Coaches

The bus station in Hull is located on the Ferensway stretch, just a short distance to the north of the city's Paragon railway station. After a recent multi-million pound refurbishment, the bus station is well laid out for the modern traveller and forms an important transport hub in the city. Local buses in Hull are run by both Stagecoach and Easy Yorkshire Motor Services, with tickets always being purchased from the driver as you board the bus. In you wish to travel further afield, National Express bus transport is also on hand in Hull, travelling to destinations such as London (six hours), Manchester (just over four hours) and York (one hour and 45 minutes).

Trains

Lying to the west of Queen Victoria Square and just off the Ferensway, the Paragon railway station provides good connections to the north and south of England. Frequent trains also travel to the west, reaching Leeds and York in approximately one hour. Further destinations include Beverley, Bridlington, Brough, Doncaster, Driffield, Huddersfield, Manchester, Scarborough and Selby.

Taxis

A useful taxi rank is based outside of the city train station, where there are usually plenty of taxis for arriving visitors. Alternatively, taxis can be flagged down (hailed) on the street and pre-booked by telephone. It has been estimated that taxis provide more than five million journeys around the city every year.

Boats and Ferries

The city's busy ferry port resides at the King George Dock, which is just 5 km / 3 miles to the east of the city centre. This port is home to a number of P&O North Sea Ferries, with daily ferry transport heading to both Rotterdam (the Netherlands) and Zeebrugge (Belgium). The expected journey time for these destinations is around 14 hours.
